Formed in Hamburg in 1976, is one of the "Big Four" of German power metal. Led by "Rock 'n' Rolf" Kasparek , the band initially explored satanic imagery before famously pivoting to pirate-themed and historical lyrics with their 1987 landmark album, Under Jolly Roger .
