When it was released in 1993, it was just a solid comedy. But looking back at that DVDRiP today, you realize it predicted the "Golden Age of Television." It shares DNA with Seinfeld (which Ramis directed early episodes of) and foreshadowed shows like The Good Place or Russian Doll . It treats a high-concept sci-fi premise with grounded, character-based humor.
