Why CHD is used for Saturn:
Saturn emulators require BIOS files ( sega_101.bin , mpr-17933.bin , etc.). CHD files do not contain BIOS. Ensure your BIOS are in the correct system folder. RetroArch requires them in system/ folder.
Place chdman.exe in the same folder as your Saturn .cue files. Open a Command Prompt or PowerShell window in that folder.
By switching to CHD, you will double your storage capacity for free, keep your library organized with single-file games, and lose zero audio or video quality. The Sega Saturn is finally portable—thanks to compression.
Eventually, the retro-gaming community realized that CD-ROMs were just another form of data storage. By adapting CHD for disc images, they solved the Saturn's biggest issues overnight.
