The name “Baskara” (sometimes spelled Bhaskara or Baskara) has roots in Sanskrit. In Hindu astronomy and mathematics, (1114–1185 CE) was a legendary scholar who wrote the Siddhanta Shiromani , a treatise on astronomy and mathematics. He also authored Karanakutuhala and Lilavati .
